Sarah's fascination in the natural world has constantly increased throughout her life and has been part of her career previously as an ecologist and now as a full-time artist and tutor.

​

She sees it as a huge privilege to illustrate many aspects of the natural world and the process that this takes. 

Research plays an important part, from fieldwork observing animal behaviour; preparatory sketches; using museum specimens; through to sourcing reference images for more unfamiliar subjects.

​

Her artwork has also been used in the design of interpretation resources for nature reserves and green-spaces.
